Friday Night Lights

Great new show so far, highly recommended. Friday Night Lights, Tuesdays on NBC. I like the line – “There is nothing more important than God and football.” Not that I’m religious. I do however love the wholsome and sometimes tragic side of small town life. Combine this with great smalltown football and I think you have a really compelling story to tell. We’ll see if the show makes it but I’m betting it will.
My Comment Spam Problems Fixed

Notice the new footer at the bottom of my blog? Some WordPress plugins annoy me when they add stuff like this, but in this case, I’m going to leave Spam Karma’s addition to my blog pages – they’ve earned it. I’ve been struggling with comment spam since I switched from Spaces and opened my WordPress blog here over a year ago. I’ve tried all sort of plugins, but nothing seemed to work. As of last night, Karma hasn’t allowed a single comment spam through while allowing a few regular comments – an excellent job so far. Karma also cleaned out a bunch of old comments junk I had deleted, but for some reason was still in my WordPress database taking up space and slowing my blog down. This morning I put it to the final test and remove my “do you know math” comment plugin, which successfully remove about 60% of my original spam load a couple months ago. I’m hoping Karma will do just fine, I’ll post back with the results later in the week.
